Dental Crowns & Bridges
Rebuild a broken tooth or fill a gap with a natural-looking cap
Dental emergencies do not wait for a convenient appointment. If you are in severe pain, if your face is swelling, or if a tooth has been knocked out, call the clinic on the number at the top of this page and we will fit you in the same day wherever we possibly can.
Rinse with warm salt water. Take the painkiller you normally tolerate, with food. Do not place aspirin directly against the gum — it burns the tissue. Do not apply heat to a swollen face; a cold compress outside the cheek is safer.
Hold it by the crown, never the root. If it is dirty rinse it briefly in milk or saline, then put it back in the socket and bite on a clean cloth. If you cannot, keep it in milk and reach us within the hour. Do not let it dry and do not scrub it.
Do not wait. A spreading facial swelling is the one dental problem that can become genuinely dangerous. If it is affecting your swallowing or breathing, go to a hospital emergency department immediately.
Antibiotics may calm an infection temporarily but they never remove the cause. The infection returns, often worse, until the tooth is treated.
